As a M.Ed. student with no formal classroom experience, the use of comics in the classroom opened my eyes to a wealth of opportunities to use this medium for teaching a new standard or reinforcing an old one. I have even purchased comics for my first grader to practice his reading at home. Without the articles I read for discussion question one, this would not have even been on my radar as useful for my child that is having some reading issues at school. I have also seen how the use of comics could help in my current position as IT Help Desk Support. Simple cartoons with basic troubleshooting methods could help end users with issues they would normally call the Help Desk with.
